Good things come whether you ask for them or not. And sometimes, the hint is so huge, it’s impossible to overlook.
I sometimes read women’s magazines. I don’t like to admit it, because technically, I don’t fall into the demographic selection being addressed, meaning: I’m too old (by numbers). On top of that, I had vowed not to make anymore frivolous magazine purchases, because, well, I need the money elsewhere now that I’m playing the lotto. But here I was, having given in to temptation, might as well read the damned thing.
I was lying in bed, leafing through the pages, when I stumbled upon a makeover. Here was a student looking for an internship or something like that, and at the very bottom of the article… a book recommendation! Perfect! Right now, I’m quite stuck working on my German resume, and I can use all the help I can get. Furthermore, I read in another magazine -yes, I bought more than one- about the correct procedure of affixing your picture to your paperwork. So, for lunch today, I’m going career shopping!
This weekend I will have the opportunity to get some advice from my dad, as well, not just about the resume, but also trading in my car. And you know what? It feels good to have a plan, even if it’s a small one!
